Iacovou Brothers (Eftyhios Iacovou and Iacovos Iacovou) formed Iacovou Brothers Partnership in 1968 to undertake mainly works for earth-moving projects and to continue the quarrying and contracting operations of their father George Iacovou. The company's success was realised from the early beginning due to the constant persistence, strong determination, immense dedication to high quality work performance in combination with a good labour and public relations. In 1977 junior brother Costakis Iacovou joined the partnership. In 1978 due to the expanding work of the partnership, Iacovou Brothers (Constructions) Ltd, Iacovou Brothers (Concrete) Ltd and Iacovou Brothers (Overseas) Ltd were registered. Although each company was formed to function independently, the co-ordination of their activities and their inter-company support have always been dominant within the framework of a well-organised group structure. Iacovou Brothers (Constructions) Ltd is considered to be the core of the group and it has executed some of the most impressive building and civil engineering projects in Cyprus. Its portfolio includes housing developments, roads and bridges, airports, water dams, irrigation and water supply schemes, central drainage and sewerage systems, industrial buildings, hotels tourist apartments etc.
